Acupuncture and IUI

At the Clinic Acupuncture is used alongside Western Fertility treatments to enhance their effectiveness, and increase the probability of a positive outcome. Jackie will always be flexible and ensure an appropriate treatment day/time is found as timing is critical to improving the outcomes.

 There are two key times to come for treatment during an IUI cycle: 

1. Pre-ovulation, whether naturally ovulating or using stimulation drugs. Acupuncture at this time will work on blood flow to the ovaries and the thickening of the endometrium

2. 2-5 days after the IUI procedure. This allows for fertilisation to take place and for the fertilised egg to travel from the fallopian tubes into the uterus. Acupuncture at this time is aimed at enhancing the implantation process.

Where sperm results could be improved further treatment options will be discussed.
